1.General Ledger and Financial Reporting
Month/Year-End Close: Manage and execute the full cycle month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS.
Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
2. Revenue Recognition and Project Accounting (Software Specific)
Subscription Revenue: Process and reconcile revenue streams, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers), which is critical for SaaS (Software as a Service) business models.
Cost Capitalization: Track and manage costs related to the development of internal-use or salable software, accurately determining which costs should be capitalized (CapEx) versus immediately expensed (OpEx).
Project Cost Tracking: Monitor project-related costs, including developer salaries and contractor fees, against established budgets for profitability analysis.
3. Accounts Management and Compliance
Accounts Payable (AP) & Receivable (AR): Oversee timely processing of vendor invoices, payment runs, client invoicing, and management of collections to ensure healthy cash flow.
Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations (e.g., GST/VAT/Sales Tax, particularly for global software sales).
Payroll & Expenses: Process and manage multi-state or international payroll and expense reimbursements accurately and in compliance with labor laws.
4. Financial Analysis and Budgeting
Budgeting: Support the creation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
Performance Analysis: Conduct analysis of financial results, identifying trends, cost-saving opportunities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) like Churn Rate, Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
